Athens, Ga. (August 2024) — Legacy Village of Athens welcomes Candice Johnson to the team as Executive Director. Johnson brings with her over five years of experience in senior living leadership and 25 years of experience as a long-term care nurse.

Originally from Madison, Colorado, Johnson received her nursing degree from Athens Technical College. For 25 years, she served as a long-term care LPN, but stepped into senior living leadership in 2019. Her first leadership role was as a Resident Services Director and was quickly promoted to Executive Director. She most recently served as a Regional Director of Clinical and Operations.

Johnson claims that it brings joy and happiness to her heart to serve the greatest generation. “Working with seniors is my passion. As young as I can remember, I have always wanted to help people. My days at work are filled with love, laughter and reminiscence of amazing stories told by amazing people.”

“We are looking forward to seeing Candice fulfill her role as Executive Director. Her specialized experience, high energy and passion for seniors is a true gift to Legacy Village,” said Doug Veazey, COO of Legacy Senior Living.

“Caring is not a job, it’s a calling. As Executive Director of Legacy Village, I am committed to serving and leading the residents, family members and staff in such a way that each person feels valued and cared for,” said Johnson.

When she is not working, Johnson loves nothing more than to spend time with her children, grandchildren and her Yorkie.
